We send a code rather than a link on purpose. A link in an email can be opened by mail scanners and previewers before you ever read the message, and this action cannot be undone.

Your annotations are not removed. Once your name, username and email address are gone they no longer identify you. Your account is closed, so you will not be able to use the workbench afterwards.
